Custom Business Cards · made to order

Cards etched for one name,
not printed off a press.

Every card we make is a commission. There is no stock, no off-the-shelf template, and no catalogue of identical blanks — you send us the name, the mark, and the story, and we design, cut, etch, and finish a card around exactly that.

How we build each run

One brief, one proof, before anything gets etched.

The same five steps run on every commission. The cadence is paced — not rushed — because the proof is the part that makes the finished card yours.

01
Design consult

Tell us the card, the name, the role.

Send a sketch, a logo file, or a one-line idea. We confirm the layout, the front-and-back split, and what kind of card would suit the hand it’ll sit in — single run, a small set, or a staff series.

02
Material + finish

Pick the stock — metal and finish together.

Stainless, anodized black, brass-tone — each card is cut from the substrate and finish that fits the brand. A reference of what’s in the shop sits at /materials.

03
Engraving proof

Approve the design before anything gets etched.

A digital proof with the layout tuned to the card, the type sized for the substrate, and the mark positioned by hand. Nothing leaves the bench until you’ve signed it off.

04
Etch + finish

Fiber-marked, laser-etched, hand-finished.

The blanks are cut and the marks are etched on the fiber laser. Edges are deburred, surfaces cleaned, and the finish is set at the bench. Times vary with material and finish choice — we quote from the brief.

05
Pack + ship

Sleeved and packed, on their way to your hand.

The finished cards leave the shop sleeved and packed from our Atlantic Canada bench. Most runs ship within two to three weeks of proof approval.

What you receive

Built around one name, etched to your spec.

The brief is the spec. We translate it into a card that suits the hand, the wallet, and the way it’ll be read on first meeting — not a generic blank pulled from a row of identical stock cards.

One-of-one

Every run is a commission.

We don’t carry stock cards. Every run is etched, finished, and packed for one specific brief — the name, the mark, the dimensions, and the finish are yours to choose.

Sized to your spec

Standard 3.5 × 2 — or your dimensions.

Run the standard 3.5 × 2 in., or bring a custom size for the hand and the wallet it sits in. The blanks are cut to your dimensions, not a catalogue row of identical stock.

Engraved into the metal

Marks go in the substrate, not on a sticker.

Names, titles, logos, monograms, contact details — etched into the metal itself. The fiber laser reads the finish and the depth is tuned per substrate.

Small series

A pair, an exec set, or a full staff run.

A single card for yourself is the usual starting point, but pairs, exec sets, and full staff runs for teams are the same workflow — bought as one commission.

The metals, finishes, and treatments the workshop works with are listed on the materials & finishes reference. Skim it before the brief — it makes the substrate and finish choices easier to pick from and confirms your card stock is in the shop.
